Opioids are a type of drug used to reduce pain. Opioids taken during pregnancy can impact how babies grow, develop, behave, and learn. The purpose of the Outcomes of Babies with Opioid Exposure (OBOE) Study is to help researchers compare babies who were exposed to opioids to babies who were not exposed to opioids. Babies in the study will be followed from birth to 2 years of age.

Researchers hope their findings will support the health and well-being of babies.
